Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 15 5G, Pad 2 Pro in India; here’s everything you need to know

Redmi Note 15 Launched: Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 15 5G globally on Tuesday, January 6, starting at Rs 22,999. Alongside the smartphone, the company also launched the Pad 2 Pro at the event. According to the company, the devices are designed to deliver dependable performance, great entertainment and long-lasting reliability for everyday use.

Commenting on the launch, Sandeep Singh Arora, Chief Business Officer, Xiaomi India, said, “With REDMI Pad 2 Pro, we are offering an ultimate productivity device that supports work, learning, and entertainment, while REDMI Note 15 5G sets new benchmarks in its segment by delivering strong performance, enhanced durability, and an immersive everyday experience.”

“Together, these two devices bring reliable performance, long-term durability, and immersive experiences across complementary form factors,” he added.

Redmi Note 15: Camera

The Redmi Note 15 5G features a 108MP Master Pixel Dual AI Camera, which is the global debut of the Samsung ISOCELL HM9 sensor. On the front, it has a 20MP camera with auto field-of-view adjustment.

The smartphone is backed by a 5520mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 45W fast charging and 18W wired reverse charging.

The newly launched phone features a 17.2 cm curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3200 nits of peak brightness, 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut, and TÜV triple certified eye protection.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, Android 15, and the Xiaomi HyperOS 2 operating system. It is backed by 4 years of Software updates and 6 years of security updates. The device also features AI-based tools like Google Gemini and Circle to Search.

The Redmi Note 15 5G will be available in Black, Glacier Blue, and Mist Purple colour options, along with two storage variants of 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB.

Alongside the smartphone, Xiaomi has also launched the Pad 2 Pro in India at a starting price of Rs 24,999. Here’s the key highlight of the tablet:

• Redmi Pad 2 Pro houses a 12000mAh battery (Redmi claims it’s the world’s largest battery) and features 33W fast charging along with 27W wired reverse charging.

• This pad is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 mobile platform.

• It features a 30.73 cm 2.5K display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 120Hz AdaptiveSync, Dolby Vision, TÜV Triple Eye Protection and DC Dimming.

• For entertainment, it has a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos.

• The pad runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2.

• Redmi Pad 2 Pro integrates with other Xiaomi devices through features such as Home Screen+, Shared Clipboard, Call Sync, and Network Sync.

• It is backed by 5 years of software updates and 7 years of security updates.

• It also supports Google Gemini and Circle Search, and has expandable storage capacity of up to 2TB via microSD card.

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will be available in two storage variants – 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB – in Silver and Graphite Grey colours. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro (Wi-Fi) will only be available in a single 8GB + 128GB storage variant.
