Will be able to add four nominees to the bank account: Toll payment through UPI is cheaper, the price of commercial cylinder reduced by ₹ 6.50; 6 big changes of November

1. You will be able to have not one but four nominees in your bank account.

Now you will be able to add four nominees in your bank account instead of one. They will also be able to decide who among the four nominees will get how much share. The new rules have come into effect from 1 November 2025.

The Finance Ministry said on October 23 that this change will make the process of banking claims and inheritance easier and transparent. The nominee can be changed or canceled at any time.

Nominee is the person whom the account holder nominates, so that on his death the amount or property in the account can be handed over to him without the lengthy legal process.

2. New charges for Aadhaar update

UIDAI of the Government of India has waived the fee of Rs 125 for biometric update in the Aadhar card of children. This will remain free for one year.

3. ChatGPT Go subscription free for one year

OpenAI is going to make the subscription plan of ‘ChatGPT Go’ free for one year in India. This offer will be active for Indian users from 4 November 2025.

Currently this subscription is Rs 399 per month in India. That means the user will get a benefit of Rs 4,788 in a year. You can create more chats and images in this plan of ChatGPT.

ChatGPT Go is OpenAI’s mid-level premium plan. The company says that India is its second largest and fastest growing market.

4. Two new rules of Fastag

Those vehicles whose Fastag has not yet undergone the necessary Know Your Vehicle (KYV) verification may be deactivated. But the National Highway Authority of India is giving a grace period by sending reminders to the banks, so that the service is not stopped immediately.

Now users will have to upload only front photo of number plate and Fastag for KYV. No side photo required. This will make the verification process easier.

The second change related to Fastag is related to the new toll penalty system. This is coming into effect from 15 November 2025. Those paying through UPI for vehicles without Fastag will have to pay 1.25 times the standard toll fee. If you pay by cash, you will be charged double as before.

5. Pension may be stopped if life certificate is not submitted

Retired Central and State Government employees drawing pension will have to submit this year’s ‘Life Certificate’ to the nearest bank branch by the end of November.

Employees who want to switch from National Pension System (NPS) to Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) will also have to complete this work by the end of November.

6. Increase in commercial cylinder prices by Rs 6.50

From today, a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has become cheaper by ₹ 6.50. Its price in Kolkata has decreased by Rs 6.50 to ₹ 1694. Earlier it was available for ₹ 1700.50. Whereas in Chennai it will now become cheaper by Rs 4.50 and will be available for Rs 1750.
