Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday said authorities would get to the bottom of the explosion that damaged a railway track in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district, close to the India-Pakistan international border.

Assuring strict action against those responsible, Vaishnaw said the investigation was underway, and all possible angles were being examined.

“Whatever the conspiracy may be, we will uncover it and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice,” the minister said while responding to the blast reported near the railway line.

Vaishnaw said discussions had been held with Rajasthan’s Director General of Police (DGP), the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary following the incident. The Railways and the state administration are jointly investigating the matter.

He added that the state police would take a call on involving the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after collecting preliminary evidence.
