A total of eight candidates are contesting from Ward No. 156 (L Ward) seat in the 2026 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections.

Ward No. 156 (L Ward) is one of the 227 wards of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), India’s largest municipal corporation. This ward is reserved for General (Female) and has a total population of 59226, of which 4665 belong to Scheduled Caste and 1025 to Scheduled Tribe.

The ward boundary as published in the Gazette of the Government of Maharashtra is as follows: A line starting from the junction of the common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘K/E’ (Mithi River) and the common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘S’ wards (Adi Shankaracharya Road) and running east, north and east along the south, east and south edge of the common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘S’ wards to its junction with the western compound wall of the Union Bank and Shipping Corporation; thence southwards along the west side of the said compound wall up to its junction with Raheja Vihar Circular Road; Thence westwards on the north side of Raheja Vihar Circular Road up to its junction with the compound wall of Raheja Vihar Complex on the east side of Westend Building; Thence north and southwards on the east and west side of the said compound wall up to its junction with Raheja Vihar Circular Road (compound wall of Bombay Scottish School behind Westend Building); thereafter southwards on the west side of Raheja Vihar Circular Road up to its junction with Chandiwali Farm Road; Thence westwards on the north side of Chandiwali Farm Road up to its junction with Saki Vihar Road (Baji Pasalkar Road); thereafter southwards on the west side of Saki Vihar Road up to its junction with Andherighatkopar Link Road; Thence westwards up to its junction with the common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘K/E’ wards on the north side of Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road; Then northwards up to its junction with the common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘S’ wards on the east side of the said common boundary…this being the starting point. Main places/colonies/towns in this ward are Tunga Gaon, Udyan Complex, Savarkar Nagar, Saki Vihar, L&T Company. North – Ward No. 121 (Common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘S’ ward, Adi Shankaracharya Road) East – Ward No. 122 and 157 (Raheja Vihar Circular Road) South – Ward No. 162 (Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road) West – Ward No. 75 and 86 (Mithi River, common boundary of ‘L’ and ‘K/East’ ward)

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has 227 wards in Mumbai city. The last BMC elections were held on 21 February 2017, in which Shiv Sena became the largest party with 84 seats, while Bharatiya Janata Party won 82 seats. The next election will be held on 15 January 2026, and counting of votes will take place on 16 January 2026.
