MCD has come into action mode after the collapse of PG hostel building in Satya Niketan, Delhi. According to the MCD Commissioner, the process of demolishing the adjacent weak building has been started and it will be demolished in a controlled manner in 1-2 days. The administration is trying to ensure the safety of the people nearby. According to NDTV’s report from Ground Zero, the foundation of the building behind the accident site is very weak – made of bricks, concrete and no pillars. Its demolition is set to begin after 10 am today. Roads have been blocked by barricading on three sides in the area, police are deployed since night.
