At the G7 summit in France, President Donald Trump said he has no objection to sending his Iran agreement to Congress for review, even as Republicans demand more details and question whether the deal can permanently block Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. Trump defended the agreement, insisting that “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” while also signalling that U.S. sanctions on Russian oil shipments could soon be reinstated as oil flows resume through the Strait of Hormuz. The remarks came during a packed day of diplomacy that also included talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and plans for a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at Versailles.
