A viral video from Uttar Pradesh shows a man sitting on a plastic chair in the middle of a busy road during heavy rain, drawing both ridicule and concern from onlookers.
The short clip on social media platform X captures the man, dressed only in black shorts, seemingly unfazed as vehicles pass by him on the road in Pratapgarh. As passersby jeered at him, a truck approached from behind. Unaware of the impending danger, the man turned to look at the crowd, and the truck struck the side of his chair, knocking him to the ground.

Despite the sudden collision, the man appeared unhurt, lying on the road while looking around in shock. Onlookers, rather than expressing concern, urged the truck driver not to stop and to keep driving, dismissing the incident as a spectacle.
Local police have since acknowledged the video, which has gone viral on social media. They reported that the man is mentally ill and has been returned to his family. Police also mentioned that they are working to identify the truck involved in the incident and will pursue further legal action.
“After an immediate investigation by Kotwali Nagar Police Station, we found that he is mentally ill and has been handed over to his family,” the Pratapgarh police said in a post on X.
