The accused allegedly parked their bikes in front of the vehicle, abused the officer, assaulted him on the road and damaged the car.

A CCTV video of the incident shows a group of bike-borne men assaulting a 35-year-old police employee on a busy road in Nagpur. The footage allegedly captures the accused dragging the officer out of his car, repeatedly punching and kicking him, and continuing the assault even after he falls to the ground. One of the attackers is seen kicking the injured policeman while others surround him. The group also vandalised his car before fleeing.
Minor Collision Triggered Attack
The incident took place on the night of June 28 on Mankapur Ring Road. According to police, the officer was travelling towards Mankapur Square with a female friend when one of the motorcycles allegedly struck the rear of his private car near a traffic signal.
Police said the bikers then blocked the car, formed an unlawful assembly and began abusing the officer. They allegedly issued death threats, pelted stones at the vehicle, smashed the rear windscreen and damaged the bonnet.
When the officer stepped out of the car, the accused allegedly assaulted him, leaving him with injuries to his neck and back. Local residents intervened, following which the attackers fled the spot.
14 Accused Detained
Using CCTV footage and technical evidence, Nagpur Police identified and detained 14 accused in connection with the attack.
The accused have been identified as Harsh Pawar, Gaurav Dhirde, Sanyam Ganeshpuri, Yash Prateki, Satyam Shirke, Premraj Dhakate, Akash Bokde, Nitin Gokhale, Vicky Telghare, Bhumi Dev alias Sagar Bokde, Ganesh Uike, Pritam Modekar and Tikaram Barapatre.
Vehicles, Property Worth Rs 5.6 Lakh Seized
Police said several of the accused have previous criminal records. During the investigation, officers seized five two-wheelers and recovered property worth around Rs 5.60 lakh.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
The arrested accused have been identified as Harsh Pawar, Gaurav Dhirde, Sanyam Ganeshpuri, Yash Prateki, Satyam Shirke, Premraj Dhakate, Akash Bokde, Nitin Gokhale, Vicky Telghare, Bhumi Dev alias Sagar Bokde, Ganesh Uike, Pritam Modekar and Tikaram Barapatre.
Police said some of the accused have previous criminal records. Five two-wheelers and property worth around Rs 5.60 lakh have been seized from their possession.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, police said.
