Aam Aadmi Party will not take part in the election of the 18th member of the Standing Committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation to be held today. AAP leader Manish Sisodia has announced this. Manish Sisodia says that the Mayor has adjourned the House till October 5, so there is nothing today. MCD Mayor Shelly Oberoi said, ‘I have written a letter to the MCD Commissioner that the elections to be held today are unconstitutional and illegal.’ Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, in an order late on Thursday night, asked the Commissioner of Delhi Municipal Corporation to hold elections on a vacant seat of the corporation’s standing committee on Friday. After this, a round of allegations and counter allegations has started between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party. Earlier, there were dramatic events throughout the day in this entire matter in which Mayor Shaili Oberoi had postponed the elections till October 5, while later the Lieutenant Governor overturned the Mayor’s decision. Corporation Commissioner Ashwini Kumar said in an order issued late night that the Lieutenant Governor has directed to hold the election of one member of the Standing Committee on Friday at 1 pm.
