Illegal construction action on Abhishek Banerjee’s office: According to the South 24 Parganas district administration, this 5-storey building located in Amtala was constructed without any valid and approved building plan in violation of the rules. Several legal notices were earlier issued to the concerned party in this regard. After no valid documents or satisfactory response was received within the stipulated time frame, the administration initiated action to demolish the building in the presence of heavy police force and central security forces. This office was closed since the assembly elections. During this action, strict security arrangements were made in view of the huge crowd of political workers and tension on the spot.
