Uttarakhand Flash Floods: Monsoon continues to wreak havoc in the hilly states of the country. From Uttarakhand to Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, the celestial disaster has caused huge devastation. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for many districts including Dehradun in Uttarakhand till July 16. In view of the frequent landslides in the mountains and the rising water level of rivers, the administration has advised Chardham pilgrims and local people to be extremely cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.
