Karnataka: Koppal district court of Karnataka has sentenced 98 accused to life imprisonment for harassment and violence against Scheduled Caste people… The case is of 28 August 2014… when cinema tickets were sold in Marakumbi village of Koppal district. There was a clash among some youths over this… the next day the minor fight turned into a big one… and on the night of 28th August, some bullies set fire to the houses of Scheduled Castes and beat them up… the matter did not stop here. … There was even social boycott of Scheduled Caste people… The police had controlled the situation here after a lot of effort… 11 accused died during the trial while 2 accused were minors… One accused died of shock after hearing his sentence.
