West Bengal Rape case: The case of gang rape of a medical student from Odisha has gained momentum in West Bengal. The opposition BJP has attacked the Mamata Banerjee government, while the ruling Trinamool Congress has appealed not to do politics in such a matter. Meanwhile, the police officer of New Township police station of Durgapur has said on the basis of preliminary investigation that the student studying in the private medical college of Durgapur had gone out of the college campus with her friend around 8-30 pm on Friday night. At the same time, three unknown people reached there and her friend went away leaving the student alone. The accused took her to the forest and raped her.
