As Delhi-NCR prepares for Diwali celebrations, deteriorating air quality is raising fresh health concerns across the region. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has crossed 350 in several areas, placing them in the ‘very poor’ category and close to the ‘severe’ range. Despite restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), pollution levels remain a concern. Doctors warn that any further deterioration in air quality could pose serious health risks, particularly for children, the elderly and people with existing respiratory or heart conditions.
