The massive fire that broke out in Surat’s Shyam Sangini Textile Market on the night of 9 September has now reached a new turn. In the initial investigation, it was considered an accident, but the investigation by the Crime Branch revealed that the fire was allegedly the result of a well-planned conspiracy. Police claim that an accountant, who had previously worked in the market, set the fire in revenge, due to which clothes worth Rs 24 crore were burnt to ashes.
