This is the story of 745 Naga Sadhus who sacrificed their lives for the religion, of their struggle against the British, of the brave queen Rani Laxmibai and of Saint Gangadas, a story which will give you goosebumps. Guess what would have been the scene when the pyre was being decorated for the funeral of Queen Laxmibai in an ashram of Naga Sadhus in Gwalior. Then the British army attacks the ashram. The British want to take possession of the dead body of the queen and her only 9 year old adopted son Damodar Rao at any cost. But to ensure that the body of the Queen of Jhansi does not fall into the hands of the British, a group of Naga Sadhus living in the ashram gets attacked by the British army. And this struggle of the sadhus with the British continues until the fire of the queen’s funeral pyre is extinguished. But by the time the fire of Queen Lakshmi Bai’s funeral pyre cooled down, a total of 745 Naga Sadhus had attained martyrdom while protecting their word and religion. Because protection of religion is the biggest duty in the life of Naga Sadhus. Now let us begin this hair-raising story of bravery of Naga Sadhus ‘buried’ in the pages of history.
