A very serious case of negligence of the Public Works Department and the contractor of the executing agency has come to light during the construction of roads and dividers in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Here, late at night, a laborer sleeping between the dividers under construction was thrown from a dumper, due to which he died a painful death by getting buried under the soil. When the work of leveling the soil started in the morning, the worker’s foot was visible outside the heap of soil. After this, the police reached the spot, took out the body and sent it for post-mortem.
