US Midterm Election Results 2026 LIVE Updates: A ‘Blue Wave’ swept through the United States midterm elections as Democrats regained full control of both chambers of Congress, dealing a major blow to President Donald Trump’s administration, which seemingly bore the brunt of rising oil prices under the influence of the Iran conflict.
Democrats have won full control of the US Congress in a sweeping victory during the November 3 midterm elections. The sweeping victory flipped both the Senate and the House of Representatives from Republican control, giving a major dent to President Donald Trump in the final two years of his presidency.
Trump’s 1st Public Appearance After Poll Rout
After facing a setback in the mid-term elections, Trump made his first public appearance on Wednesday, November 4, focusing largely on the construction of the White House ballroom rather than the poll outcomes.
The President abruptly called reporters to a ceremony where construction crews hoisted what he described as the new structure’s final steel beam.
Earlier in the day, he conceded his defeat in a post on Truth Social, stating that Republicans would have won “had he been on the ballot”.
Speaking to Politico, Trump said he was willing to work with the Democrats for “anything good for the country”, while also reiterating that “we would have won very easily had I been on the ballot”.
