US Iran War Live News Updates: As the war enters another critical phase, Iran proposed a seven-day roadmap to bring the conflict to an end, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi saying Tehran is ready to begin implementing the plan as soon as Washington agrees. The proposal comes as the US says the door to diplomacy has remained open, with State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott telling Al Jazeera that “it’s not the United States that has stopped that from happening”.

At the same time, tensions remain high across the region. Mecca Pact nations reaffirmed their commitment to Saudi Arabia’s defence during a meeting in Riyadh, where army chiefs reviewed threats facing the kingdom, according to the Saudi Defence Ministry.
Meanwhile, Iran has signalled that any diplomatic push will not mean abandoning its nuclear programme. Mohammad Saleh Jokar, chairman of Iran’s parliamentary Committee on Internal Affairs and Councils, said Tehran would not back down from enriching uranium to 60%. Quoted by semi-official Fars News Agency, Jokar said uranium enrichment at different levels was a “legitimate right of the Iranian people”, while insisting that Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons. He said the country needed to retain access to nuclear technology for uses including medicine, agriculture, industry and fuel production.
