UPTET Result 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission (UPESSC) announced the UPTET results on Wednesday. This year, more than 13 lakh candidates cleared the exam at the primary and upper primary levels. Successful candidates will now be eligible to appear for the Super TET recruitment exam in Uttar Pradesh.
The UPTET 2026 exam was conducted from July 2 to 4 at 955 examination centres across 60 districts. Due to the large number of applicants, the examination was held in three shifts. According to the Commission, it was among the largest teacher eligibility tests conducted in the state. The results are now available at upessc.up.gov.in.
5.71 lakh candidates clear primary-level exam
A total of 713,648 candidates appeared for the primary-level examination for Classes 1 to 5. Of these, 571,435 candidates were declared successful, resulting in a pass percentage of 80.07%.
7.59 lakh qualify at upper primary level
At the upper primary level, for Classes 6 to 8, a total of 1,057,021 candidates appeared for the examination. As many as 759,513 candidates cleared the test, recording a success rate of 71.85%.
Over 13 lakh candidates qualify across both levels
According to data released by the Commission, around 13.30 lakh candidates have cleared the UPTET 2026 across the primary and upper primary levels. These candidates will now be eligible to participate in the Super TET examination, which is conducted for the recruitment of teachers in government schools across Uttar Pradesh.
Working teachers also record strong performance
A significant number of working teachers also appeared for UPTET 2026.
Primary Level: Of the 1,22,405 working teachers who appeared, 93,387 candidates, or 76.29%, qualified.
Upper Primary Level: A total of 1,46,394 working teachers appeared, of whom 1,13,384 were declared successful.

The UPTET is an eligibility test and does not offer candidates a direct appointment. Those who qualified the exam will now become eligible to apply for the Super TET and other teacher recruitment processes in Uttar Pradesh.
