A UP resident was allegedly beaten to death by co-passengers during a rush at Shahdara Railway Station. Delhi Police have registered a case.

A 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by fellow passengers during a scuffle while attempting to board the Yoga Express at Shahdara railway station in east Delhi, police said on Saturday. The incident occurred amid a rush of passengers trying to board the train, according to PTI.
The deceased has been identified as Pankaj Dhama, a resident of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh.
Police said the incident took place on Platform No. 3 of Shahdara railway station, where an argument reportedly broke out among passengers during the rush. Information about the scuffle was subsequently received at the Old Delhi Railway Station police station, following which an investigating officer was dispatched to the spot.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Dhama was allegedly assaulted with punches and kicks by several co-passengers during the altercation. He was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, officials said.
A medico-legal case has been registered, and legal proceedings have been initiated under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), a senior police officer said.
Police teams are currently working to identify and trace those involved in the assault. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the railway station and recording statements of eyewitnesses to piece together the sequence of events.
