Jaishankar addressed UNGA in New York on Saturday.
Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar addressed the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on Saturday night. He condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and said without naming Pakistan that our neighbor is the center of terrorism.
The Indian Foreign Minister said that terrorists are openly praised there. For decades, the roots of large international terrorist attacks go to the same country.
Jaishankar demanded to stop the funding of terrorism. He said that it is necessary to eliminate terrorist structures. The fight with terrorists has always been India’s priority.
Jaishankar demanded improvement in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), saying that members of UN have increased 4 times. Now the number of permanent members should increase. He used the word Bharat instead of India in his speech.

Pahalgam attack examples of cross-border terrorism
Jayashankar, referring to the Pahalgam attack, said that this is the most recent example of cross-border terrorism. India has used the right to protect its people from terrorism.
He said that India has faced such a neighbor since independence, which is a global center of terrorism. The UN terrorist lists are full of its citizens.
Jaishankar emphasized that when a country declares terrorism as a government policy, when terrorists run at the industry level, when terrorists are publicly glorified, such attacks should be condemned unconditionally.

Jaishankar said that we need a special need to counter terrorism as it combines bigotry, violence, intolerance and fear together.
Jaishankar’s warning- those who raise terrorism will bear the consequences
Jaishankar said that along with emphasizing our rights, we should also face the dangers bravely. Terrorism is a common threat, so international cooperation is necessary.
Jaishankar warned that the country which will give exemption to the nations that promote terrorism, finally the same terrorism will return to them as a threat.

India ready to fulfill more responsibilities in UNSC
Jaishankar emphasized the need for immediate improvement in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He said that the number of both permanent and temporary members in the Permanent Council should increase, so that more people can talk here.
Jaishankar told the world leaders- We want more countries to get a place in UNSC. India is ready to fulfill more responsibilities in this.
Jaishankar described India’s global contribution
Jaishankar said that during the recent earthquake, people from Afghanistan and Myanmar have seen that India helped him in difficult times. We helped continuing safe trade in the North Arabian Sea and stopped piracy.
Jaishankar said- Our soldiers maintain peace, our security forces fight terrorism, our doctors and teachers help in human development around the world, our industries create cheap products, our technical experts promote digitization and our training centers are open to the world. All this is the root of our foreign policy.
Russia supports India’s permanent membership in UNSC
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov supported India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He said in UNGA on Saturday that Russia wants India and Brazil get permanent seats in UNSC.
He also emphasized the importance of groups like Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS. He said that BRICS is a great way to work together for the interests of developing countries of the world (Global South).

Sergei Lavarov supported permanent membership of India and Brazil in UNSC.
