UGC NET Exam will be conducted in two shifts each day — the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, and the afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
UGC NET 2025 begins today to determine eligibility for JRF, assistant professor posts, and PhD admissions.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will begin the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2025 session exam from today, June 25. The exam will be held in two shifts — the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, and the afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Candidates must carry their UGC NET 2025 admit card to the centre for the June 25 exam. The hall ticket is available on the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The hall ticket is mandatory for verification and entry to the exam hall.
Currently, admit cards have been issued only for the June 25 exam. The NTA is expected to release the hall tickets for the remaining dates shortly on the official portal.
The exam aims to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as assistant professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
Important Items To Carry For UGC NET 2025 (June 25 Exam)
Admit Card – Must be printed and carried to the exam centre. Download it from ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Valid Photo ID – Carry any one original ID proof: Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence.
Passport-size Photograph – Same as the one used in the application form. This will be pasted on the attendance sheet.
Ballpoint Pen – Bring a simple blue or black ink pen (transparent body).
PwD Certificate – Only for candidates claiming PwD reservation or scribe support.
Water Bottle and Sanitiser (Optional) – Must be transparent if carried.

UGC NET 2025 Exam Guidelines
Report on Time: Candidates must reach the exam centre well in advance. No entry will be allowed once the exam begins. The exact reporting time and venue are mentioned on the admit card.
Admit Card Mandatory: Carry a printed copy of the UGC NET 2025 admit card for verification and entry.
Assigned Seating Only: Sit only at the seat allotted to you. Report immediately if there’s a mismatch in the question paper or subject.
Prohibited Items: Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, books, bags, or any electronic devices.
Dress Code: Wear simple clothes without metal elements. Avoid shoes with thick soles and heavy accessories.
Follow Instructions: Biometric verification is mandatory. Any misconduct may lead to disqualification.
