A shocking video surfaced on social media, showing two people being killed after their overspeeding bike rammed into the railing of a highway in Telangana.
The accident took place in Lingala village of Telangana’s Khammam district. Two people, identified as Gattu Rambabu and Kommu Sai, died on the spot after the motorbike crashed into a roadside railing on the Greenfield National Highway.
CCTV footage emerged of the accident, in which the motorcycle was seen moving at a very high speed dangerously near the railing. Suddenly, the driver lost control of the bike and it crashed into the railing, and both passengers were thrown several metres away from the vehicle.
Police said the two people suffered fatal injuries due to the impact of the crash, and there was no chance for medical intervention, reported NDTV. The duo were travelling from Chintalapudi towards Khammam when the accident occurred.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
In a separate incident, a seven-year-old boy died after being run over by a speeding car inside a residential housing society in Pune’s Loni Kalbhor area, police said on Friday.
Police said the car was being driven by Atharva Ramesh Kawade (26), a student at the MIT college, who had come to the society to drop off a friend. According to investigators, Kawade was returning after dropping his friend when his vehicle hit the child with force.
CCTV visuals show the car knocking Nishkarsh down, after which both wheels reportedly ran over him. The boy suffered a severe head injury and lost consciousness on the spot, and was later declared dead by doctors.
