Following these events, the US State Department issued urgent security alerts warning Americans of a rapid, unforeseen military escalation in the region.
On the morning of Saturday, September 19, a NORAD F-16 fighter jet intercepted a civilian aircraft that breached restricted airspace directly over Camp David while Trump was present. The fighter jet was forced to deploy flares to alert the pilot before safely escorting the plane out of the area.
