Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Thursday observed that trade unionism has played a significant role in hindering industrial growth in the country.
He questioned how many industrial units have shut down due to the influence of trade unions and urged an honest acknowledgment of these realities.
CJI Kant noted that several traditional industries across the nation have closed as a result of the actions of certain flag-bearing unions.
He remarked that many such unions resist productive work and stated that trade union leaders are largely responsible for stalling industrial development in India.
