Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded BJP president JP Nadda’s reply during the ‘Operation Sindoor’ debate in the Rajya Sabha.
Modi said Nadda accorded “topmost priority to national security” and explained in detail how the central government responded to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, with “full determination and resolve”. He said the leader also elaborated on how ‘Operation Sindoor’ was successful in achieving its target.
“Do hear this address by Shri JP Nadda Ji in the Rajya Sabha, in which he highlights how our Government has accorded topmost priority to national security, the success of Operation Sindoor in the fight against terror and more,” Modi said in a post on X.

“Our government responded to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam with full determination and resolve…J.P. I came back ji elaborately explained in the Rajya Sabha how Operation Sindoor succeeded in achieving its objectives,” he added.
‘Operation Sindoor’ was a retaliatory action by the Indian armed forces to the Pahalgam attack, under which they carried out strikes on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in May.
A day ago, the opposition posed a number of questions to the central government on the military operation while also seeking answers to US President Donald Trump’s claims of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan during the subsequent military standoff. Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi criticised the Centre for “lacking political will” in its actions against Pakistan in the aftermath of Pahalgam.
The session in the Lok Sabha was adjourned after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong response, followed a day later by replies from Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha. The opposition staged a walkout after an argument between Shah and Leader of Opposition in the House Mallikarjun Kharge over Modi’s absence during the proceedings.
