A 22-year-old NEET aspirant was found dead at his home in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Friday, just days before the NEET-UG retest scheduled for Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Jatin Kumar, who had reportedly been preparing for the medical entrance test for several years and was struggling to clear it despite multiple attempts.
During the probe, investigators recovered a video from Jatin’s mobile phone, allegedly recorded shortly before his death, in which he reportedly spoke about feeling exhausted by the repeated cycle of examinations and his inability to qualify the exam. The clip was being examined as part of the probe.
Jatin Recorded Video Shortly Before Suicide
According to his family members, the NEET aspirant went to his study room on Thursday night as usual. When he did not come out the following morning, his family checked on him and found him in a motionless state, according to a report in India Today. Subsequently, they informed the police.
Officials from Vijay Nagar police station and a forensic team visited the residence, carried out an inspection and sent the body for post-mortem examination. ACP Nagar Kotwali Upasana Pandey said the video appears to have been recorded before his death and that statements from family members were also being taken.
The incident comes amid renewed debate over the NEET examination process after the National Testing Agency cancelled the May 3 exam following allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities.

Police said she was talking on her phone on the balcony before moving upstairs. Moments later, family members heard a loud noise and found her critically injured. She later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital. Investigators were examining CCTV footage and call records, and no suicide note has been recovered so far.
