‘Those Who Don’t Value You…’: Maharashtra Woman Alleged Harassment, Disputes Days Before Family Suicide

Two YouTube videos recorded by Sangita Chandgude have surfaced after she, her husband and son died in a hill tragedy in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Two YouTube videos recorded by 48-year-old Sangita Chandgude have emerged following the deaths of her, her husband and their 18-year-old son at Khavdya Hill in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, bringing allegations of family discord and mental harassment into focus.

Sangita, her husband Murlidhar Chandgude and their son Kunal Chandgude died on Friday after the 18-year-old allegedly went to the edge of a cliff following a quarrel with his father over a mobile phone.

Police said the family tragedy unfolded during an attempt to bring Kunal back from the hill.

According to news agency ANI, the cliff was around 400-500 feet high.

Senior police official Rameshwar Gade said Kunal allegedly jumped after the argument, while his father, a driver, fell while trying to save him. Sangita then jumped off the cliff.

The incident reportedly began in the morning, with Kunal remaining on the edge of the hill for nearly three hours.

Eyewitness Sanjay Jadhav told ANI that the teenager did not respond to repeated appeals from locals and police personnel to move away from the edge.

Jadhav said Sangita repeatedly pleaded with her son and tried to persuade him to come down.

When Murlidhar arrived, those present hoped he would be able to convince Kunal to return.

However, according to the eyewitness, the father tried to grab his son, and both fell from the cliff. Sangita subsequently jumped from the hill.

Sangita’s Videos About Relationships

A day before the tragedy, Sangita had uploaded a one-minute video on her YouTube channel, where she spoke about love, relationships and the importance of being valued by the people for whom one makes sacrifices.

In the video, she said people should be willing to make sacrifices for those who recognise and value their love. She questioned the purpose of continuing to give to someone who does not appreciate one’s efforts or affection.

The video, which was posted on Thursday, has gained attention following her death, particularly because it appeared shortly before the fatal incident involving her family.

Second Video Raises Family Dispute Angle

Another purported video recorded by Sangita has also surfaced. In it, she appears distressed while making allegations against some relatives, including her husband’s sister.

Sangita alleged that certain relatives mentally harassed her family, created misunderstandings between family members and attempted to damage her relationship with her husband and son.

She also alleged that the relatives were trying to create a rift between her son Kunal and his father, Murlidhar.

She further accused them of causing repeated fights within the family and alleged that when such relatives failed to break up a family, they sought a share in its property.

Sangita also claimed that such relatives did not stand by their brothers during difficult periods and instead subjected both the brother and his wife to abuse.

The allegations in the video have not been independently established.

Police were examining the videos, including their authenticity and the circumstances in which they were recorded, while also looking into the claims of family conflict, alleged mental harassment and a property dispute.

Sangita was reportedly active on YouTube, where she had more than 29,000 followers and regularly uploaded motivational videos and short vlogs featuring her son Kunal.
