Mahindra has introduced a new personalisation feature on the BE 6 Sporteq that lets owners create and display customised messages on the electric SUV’s tailgate.
The feature is part of Mahindra’s new TEQ_xting technology suite, one of six software-focused technology packages introduced with the Sporteq series. It allows owners to personalise the BE 6 by creating messages that can be displayed on the rear of the vehicle.
The feature is designed to let owners put their own message on the tailgate, adding a new layer of personalisation to the electric SUV.
The TEQ_xting feature joins a broader set of connected and software-driven functions introduced with the BE 6 Sporteq. TEQ_Talk, developed with Google Gemini, uses 17 specialised AI agents and supports more than 100 core functions and 48 applications, including vehicle controls, navigation, music and news.
TEQ_Play adds features such as karaoke, in-car gaming, private audio, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, while TEQ_Drive brings functions such as Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive, Revive and Revive SOS. The Sporteq also gets TEQ_Me for driver personalisation and TEQ_Secure with features including Secure360 Pro, intrusion alerts and digital-key functionality.
The new technology is part of a wider update to the BE 6 line-up. The Sporteq series is available in eight variants: One, Two, Three, Three+, Four, FE, FE Four and Launch Edition with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery options depending on the variant. Prices start at Rs 11.45 lakh (ex-showroom) with the Battery-as-a-Service option and go up to Rs 26.95 lakh.
With BaaS, customers pay Rs 3.75 per km for battery usage, while the battery-inclusive range starts at Rs 19.45 lakh for the 59kWh One variant.
The Sporteq also gets a redesigned cabin with a three-screen, coast-to-coast digital cockpit from the Two variant upwards. The series is offered in four new exterior colours: Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin, taking the total colour choices to 12.
Deliveries of the BE 6 Sporteq are scheduled to begin on August 26, coinciding with Onam.
Mahindra will also roll out several of the new software features to existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners through over-the-air updates. The rollout is scheduled to begin in phases from January 2027, with feature availability varying according to the model and variant.
