A terrorist was gunned down in the exchange of fire with the security forces in the forest area of J&K’s Kulgam on Monday, officials said.

A terrorist was killed while an Indian Army jawan sustained injuries in an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces during an anti-terror operation in the forest area of Gudar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam, officials said on Monday.
Personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and CRPF were involved in the joint operation, the Kashmir Zone Police posted on X.
The injured JCO of the Army was airlifted to the army hospital in Srinagar, officials said, adding that the process of identification of the terrorist is underway.
The forces had launched a search operation in the Gudar forest area following information about the presence of terrorists there, they added.
The search operation turned into an encounter as the terrorists opened fire at the security forces’ position.
