School Holidays: There are a total of nine holidays for schools in Telangana districts in January. Four of these holidays include Sundays. According to the calendar released by the Telangana government, the Sankranti holidays this month will be from January 12 to 17. That is, there will be a total of six days of holidays for educational institutions, according to the Telangana Education Department.

Although Republic Day is a regular holiday, it falls on a Sunday this year. All schools in Hyderabad and Telangana remain closed on such regular holidays. However, apart from these, there are three optional holidays in January.

The government has included three special holidays this month which include Hazrat Ali’s birthday (January 14), Kanumu (January 15), and Shab-e-Meraj (January 25) in the list of optional holidays. However, since January 14 also includes Sankranti, that day falls under the general holiday.

What is the main thing that students need to remember here? There are optional holidays. But. Not all schools in Telangana are closed in the same way. However, many minority schools have a holiday on Shab-e-Meraj.

Furthermore, those studying in government schools will get another holiday. Because January 11 is the second Saturday. That means that government schools across Telangana will have a holiday on that day. However, these rules may be different for private educational institutions.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand continues to reel under cold wave conditions with the mercury falling below 6 degrees Celsius in some parts. The Jharkhand government announced that schools will remain closed for students from kindergarten to class 8 from January 7 to 13 due to the cold wave in the state.

The School Education and Literacy Department, in a notification issued on Saturday evening, announced that the suspension of classes for students till grade 8 will be for all categories of schools, including government, aided, minority and private, in view of prevailing cold wave conditions in the state.
