Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran received a salary of Rs 135 crore in FY 2024, which is 20% higher than the salary of the previous financial year. N Chandrasekaran is the highest paid professional chief of an Indian company.
At the same time, the total salary of all the directors of Tata Sons increased by 16%. The company paid Rs 200 crore to its top directors, which was Rs 172.5 crore in the financial year 2022-23 (FY23). During the same period, the salary and remuneration of the employees of Tata Sons increased by 2.5% to Rs 441 crore.

N Chandrasekaran was made the chairman of Tata Sons in 2017. He will remain the chairman of Tata Sons till 2027.
CFO of Tata Sons gets Rs 30 crore
Tata Sons CFO Saurabh Agarwal received Rs 30 crore in FY 2024. He was the second highest paid executive in the Tata Group. His earnings were more than the heads of TCS, Tata Steel and IHCL. Agarwal’s earnings were about 9% higher than the salary of FY 2022-23.
TCS CEO K Krithivasan, IHCL chief Punit Chhatwal and Tata Steel chief TV Narendran received salaries of Rs 25 crore, Rs 19 crore and Rs 17 crore respectively in FY 2024. Krithivasan’s total salary includes salary as TCS’s global head of BFSI from April 1, 2023 to May 31, 2023 and as the company’s CEO from June 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. Krithivasan was made the CEO of TCS after Rajesh Gopinathan suddenly left the company.
Tata Sons revenue increased by 25%
In the financial year 2023-24, Tata Sons’ revenue increased by 25% to Rs 43,893 crore. TCS is the biggest contributor to Tata Sons’ income. Tata Trusts hold a 66% stake in Tata Sons, while the Mistry family holds 18.4%. The remaining stake is held by Tata Group companies.
Thierry Delaporte, former CEO of IT company Wipro, received Rs 167 crore in the financial year 2023-24. France’s Delaporte resigned without completing his 5-year term in the company. In the financial year 2023, he got Rs 83 crore while Chandrasekaran’s compensation was Rs 113 crore.
N Chandrasekaran joined the company as a trainee
N Chandrasekaran joined Tata Group company TCS as a trainee. He is the first non-family member to become the chairman of this group. He was made the chairman of Tata Sons for the first time in 2017. He will be the chairman of Tata Sons in 2027.
