Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called for a more realistic assessment of Pakistan’s economic and political position, cautioning against rhetoric of confrontation with India while the country grapples with serious domestic challenges. Speaking on the current political situation, Fazlur Rehman pointed to India’s growing economic strength, saying Pakistan must take stock of its own standing before repeatedly talking about war and confrontation with its neighbour.“We talk about war and confrontation with India, but let’s reflect on the reality,” Fazlur Rehman said, noting that India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and has foreign exchange reserves running into hundreds of billions of dollars. n18oc_india
