Kadhe, who had won the Almaty Open last year alongside compatriot Rithvik Bollipalli, missed out competing in his second ATP 250 final following the defeat at St. Jakobshalle.
Kadhe and Prashanth battled past the Mexican-Colombian pairing of Miguel Angel Reyes Varela and Niccolos Barrientos 7-5, 6-3 in the Round of 16 encounter, before breezing past the German duo of Jacob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner in the quarterfinals with a score of 6-3, 7-6.
Three separate Indian pairs were seen in action in the ATP Tour this month, including N Sriram Balaji and Bollipalli while Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan teamed with Niki Kalyan Poonacha, in a clear show of intent in the lead up to the Asian Games.
Home hopes Jakub Paul and Dominic Stricker take on the Austrian-Portuguese duo of Lucas Miedler and Francisco Cabral in the second semifinal of the event with a berth in the final against the French-German pairing of Olivetti and Jebsens for a shot at the title.
Bollipalli, who teamed up with N Sriram Balaji for the event in Switzerland, was ousted by Paul and Stricker in the Ro16 as the Indians went down 4-6, 7-6, 7-10 to exit the tournament despite their fightin effort to restore parity after having conceded the opening set. However, the home duo proved too strong as they sealed the result en route to the final.
