Suspected terrorists opened fire at an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora on Friday evening. No injuries have been reported so far and the army retaliated quickly, sources said.
Sources said that the incident took place at the Bilal Colony Army camp along the Bandipora-Panhaar Road. Official confirmation is pending as authorities continue to investigate the situation.
A series of terrorist attacks in the valley has been on the rise. Earlier today, two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh were shot at in Budgam.
Both workers were transferred to a hospital in Srinagar and are now reported to be in stable condition. They have been identified as Mohammad Usman and Sufiyan, who were working on the construction of a water tank in the Manzhama area of Magam at the time of the shooting. Usman sustained injuries to his right wrist, while Sufiyan was injured in his right leg.
In another terrorist incident, four people—two army jawans and two local porters—were killed in a terror attack in the Gulmarg area last week.
