Six months of hard work, followed by 18th national rank, inspired by a neighbor, 22-year-old Dev created history by becoming a CA.

22-year-old Dev Manish Jalan, a resident of Adarsh Colony in Burhanpur, has brought honor to the district by securing the 18th rank all India in the Chartered Accountant (CA) final exam. He achieved this feat among over 100,000 candidates, bringing pride to his family. Dev Manish told Local18 that his neighbors inspired him to become a CA.
He said, “I worked hard for six months. When the results came, I was astonished. I saw the results at home on my mobile phone and was momentarily stunned. My mother asked, ‘Have you failed?’ I laughed and replied, ‘Mom, I got 18th rank all India.’ My mother hugged me immediately.”
Dev’s father is a textile businessman, and business runs in the family. His elder brother completed an MBA, so his father wanted Dev to become a CA. Dev says, “My dream is to continue my job and manage the family business. My father wanted me to join the business, so I started CA studies. Now I will work and manage the family business.”
Neighbors, relatives, and people from across the district flocked to Dev’s home to congratulate him. People are saying that achieving such great success at the age of 22 is an inspiration for the youth of Madhya Pradesh. Burhanpur is now proud of this young talent. Dev Manish Jalan’s journey has become an example not only for his family but for the entire district.
Dev Manish’s father revealed that Dev received his early education at the Nehru Montessori School in Burhanpur. After completing 12th grade, he studied in Indore to pursue a career as a CA. He explained that Dev Manish Jalan was a good student from the beginning, studying for 18 hours a day.
