Stocks to Watch on March 9, 2026: Indian equity markets are likely to begin the week on a weak note, tracking negative global cues. Early indicators also suggest a gap-down opening for benchmark indices.
At around 06:50 AM, GIFT Nifty was trading at 23,839, down 706 points from its previous close, signalling a sharp decline at the start of Monday’s session.
Key stocks in focus
UltraTech Cement
The company has entered into an Energy Supply Agreement along with a Share Subscription and Shareholders Agreement to acquire 26.20% equity stake in Sunsure Solarpark Thirty Eight Private Limited, a renewable energy generation and transmission firm.
HDFC Life Insurance Company
The board approved the appointment of Vijay Vaidyanathan as Chief Human Resource Officer, effective April 1, 2026.
Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories
The company said the US Department of Justice has closed its inquiry under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), stating it will not pursue enforcement action against the firm.
Kotak Mahindra Bank
The Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Anup Kumar Saha as Whole-time Director (Executive Director) and Key Managerial Personnel of the bank with immediate effect.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals (GNFC)
The company said LNG supply disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict have impacted operations. Supplier GAIL (India) Limited received a force majeure notice from Petronet LNG, resulting in RLNG allocations to GNFC being reduced to 60% of the daily contracted quantity from March 6, 2026.

IRB Infrastructure Developers
The company reported 21.55% year-on-year growth in toll revenue, which rose to Rs 746.1 crore in February 2026, compared with Rs 613.8 crore a year earlier.
PB Fintech
Tencent Holdings subsidiary Tencent Cloud Europe BV reduced its stake by half through a block deal, selling 48.4 lakh shares (1.04%) worth Rs 694.65 crore at Rs 1,435.1 per share. The shares were acquired by investors including Goldman Sachs Bank Europe, Mirae Asset Mutual Fund, Societe Generale, DSP Mutual Fund, Schroder, Tata Mutual Fund, and Viridian Asia Opportunities Master Fund.
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy
The company announced that Sterling and Wilson Kazakhstan LLP, its step-down subsidiary in Kazakhstan, has been liquidated effective March 2, 2026. The entity had no active business operations.
