Stock Market Holiday: Confusion is building among investors over whether Indian stock markets will remain closed on March 20 on account of Eid al-Fitr.

As per the official holiday calendars released by NSE and BSE for 2026, Eid al-Fitr is not scheduled as a market holiday on March 20, meaning equity, derivatives, and other segments will function as usual.

Normal trading hours will be followed on March 20, and all market activities, including settlement cycles, will proceed without disruption.

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also remain open on March 20, in line with NSE and BSE, as there is no officially designated holiday for Eid al-Fitr on that day. Trading in commodities, including bullion and energy, will take place during regular hours across both morning and evening sessions.
