The second Test between Sri Lanka and India is reaching its climax with the visitors edging closer to a famous win in Colombo. India scored 503 for nine and decided to declare the innings. They reached the score thanks to hundreds from Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel and a whirlwind knock from Rishabh Pant.
The hosts were fighting on in the first innings thanks to a hundred from the impressive Sonal Dinusha and a valiant knock from Pasindu Sooriyabandara. Despite this, they were bundled out for 290 and India enforced the follow-on. The batting got better as the game progressed with Day 4 seeing the hosts fight on in the second innings and taking a lead of 16 runs.
India did bounce back and are four wickets away from bowling out the hosts and setting up a target. However, rain has been a constant feature in the match with Day three and four coming to an early end due to rain.

According to Accuweather, it is expected to be a rainy day in Colombo on Thursday, August 27. While it is expected to be cloudy around 9 am, showers are expected to come in during the next three hours of the day.
While the afternoon session will start cloudy, showers are expected to return to possibly disrupt proceedings.
The rain is expected to continue in the evening session, with some respite coming around the 5 pm mark.
It is expected to be extremely humid during the day with the highest being around 84 percent.
India need to win the match to boost their chances of making it to the World Test Championship final next year.
