Simple One Gen 2 Electric Scooter: The country’s leading electric two-wheeler company Simple Energy has today given a major update to its vehicle portfolio. With the beginning of the new year, the company has launched the Gen 2 version of its popular electric scooter Simple One. This new model is a much better and performance focused scooter based on Gen 1.5. Apart from this, the company has also introduced the new flagship model Simple Ultra.
The company has made many important improvements in the design, ride quality, battery, performance and software of Simple One Gen 2, so that users can get a more reliable and advanced experience. The starting price of this new electric scooter has been introduced at Rs 1.40 lakh. Which is the introductory price, after the offer ends its price will become Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design and hardware improvements
Simple Energy says that the design of Simple One Gen 2 has been made more sleek and streamlined than before. The structural joints have been strengthened, making the ride of the scooter more sharp and controlled. The crash zone around the battery has been strengthened, which increases safety. The new tire compound improves stability at high speeds. The suspension has been retuned and the seat height has been lowered by 16 mm. The seat foam is now sportier and firmer, providing better support on long rides.
New battery and strong performance
The top variant of Simple One Gen 2 comes with a new 5kWh battery, which is lighter, more energy dense and more efficient than before. The weight of the battery has reduced from 34 kg to 30 kg. The electric motor installed in it gives peak power of 8.8kW and peak torque of 72Nm. The company claims that this scooter gives an IDC range of 265 km on a single charge.
Apart from this, a version with 4.5kWh battery will also be available, which will give a range of 236 km in a single charge. Both variants accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.55 seconds and the top speed of this scooter is now 115 kmph.
Base version of Simple OneS
The Simple OneS variant has a small battery of 3.7kWh, which gives an IDC range of 190 km. It has a less powerful motor, which generates power of 6.4kW and torque of 52Nm. This version is for those customers who want an affordable electric scooter for everyday use.

What is special in Simple One Ultra
The company has also showcased Simple One Ultra variant. It has a large 6.5kWh battery, which claims to give an IDC range of 400 km on a single charge. This variant accelerates from 0 to 40 km per hour in just 2.77 seconds. At present its price has not been announced. Its price will be revealed in the coming time.
SimpleOS and new smart features
Many new software updates have been provided in SimpleOS with Gen 2. Two new riding modes have been added to it, EcoX and SonicX. Both these riding modes will help in making the ride of the scooter even better. EcoX focuses on increasing range by understanding the rider’s throttle inputs, speed patterns and the surrounding environment. Whereas SonicX mode unlocks the full top speed of 115 kmph of the scooter.
The scooter has four traction modes and 4 levels of regenerative braking. Apart from this, 2 level cruise control, hill hold assist, vehicle fall cutoff and emergency brake lights that activate on hard braking are also available.
The variant with 5kWh battery has a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display. Whereas Simple OneS has a 7 inch non touch TFT screen. Both dark mode and light mode options are provided in the display. All variants have 35 liters of boot space, front glove box and USB charging port.
lifetime warranty
This scooter will be available for sale in a total of 3 colors including Sonic Red, Arrow X and Asphalt X. The special thing is that the company is also giving lifetime warranty with all Gen 2 scooters, which will remove a major concern of the customers regarding the battery life of the electric scooter.
