Today i.e. on 18th December, silver has reached all time high for the second consecutive day. According to India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), 1 kg silver has increased by Rs 1,609 to Rs 2,01,250 per kg. Earlier on December 17, it had closed at Rs 1,99,641.

Yesterday, for the first time, silver went above Rs 2 lakh per kg. Yesterday morning it opened at Rs 2,00,750. So far this year, the price of silver has increased by Rs 1,15,233.

4 big reasons for the rise in silver

1. Industrial Demand Due to its large-scale use in solar, electronics and electric vehicle (EV) sectors, silver is no longer limited to jewelery only.

2. Apprehension about Trump’s tariffs American companies are accumulating huge stocks of silver due to fear of possible tariff policy. This has created pressure on global supply.

3. Advance purchase from manufacturers Due to the fear of production stoppage, manufacturers are making purchases in advance, due to which the rise may continue in the coming months.

4. Increase in investment Investors are increasing investment in silver through Silver ETFs, which has further strengthened the demand.
