Shots were fired at an educational institute run by popular educator Khan Sir in Bihar’s capital Patna on Tuesday, police said.
The incident took place at the Khan Sir Coaching Centre in the Musallahpur Hat area of the city. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
Police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the firing and have launched.
Khan sir alleged rival coaching institutes are behind this attack. “Some uncivilised people came… And they beat up the guard so badly that he was admitted to the hospital. Now see what is happening here. After that, we will see here. But these are all very uncivilised people… The reason is that I am teaching at such a low fee. The main reason is that people should not be taught at such a low fee… Because even the poor have the right to study here,” he said.
Khan Sir is widely known for offering educational courses at affordable fees. Recently, he organised a large event at his institute to honour students who were selected for the Bihar Police.
SSP Kartikeya Kumar Sharma assured action and said those involved in the attack will be identified.
“CCTV footage has been identified. A guard has been injured and is currently in the hospital. Those involved will be identified and investigated. It appears to be a case of rivalry, but the investigation is ongoing,” he said.
