A sartorial tribute to mothers who undergo C-sections took over the Miss World ramp. Uganda’s Muhoza Trivia Elle wore the special gown at the Miss World stage ahead of the grand crowning ceremony on September 5.
Designed by Keesha Abdallah for the World Designer Award, the gown was inspired by the designer’s own experience as a new mother. Abdallah said she wanted to turn the layers of childbirth into a couture piece that was “fresh, original, and highly inspired.”
The design depicted the seven layers involved in a C-section using a blend of colours, layering and texture.
Crafted from stretch satin and layered tulle, the design featured a fitted one-shoulder bodice with a flowing tulle drape, while soft layers symbolised the protective embrace of motherhood. An ombre blend of peach, gold, coral, red, maroon, and burgundy reflected the journey from nurture to birth, enhanced by pearls, glass beads, and crystal stones.
The embellishment was a lengthy process, the designer said. Abdallah sourced stones and accessories through suppliers in Dubai before testing which pieces worked best on each layer.
The internet cannot stop talking about this gown.

The designer created the C-section-inspired gown as a celebration of womanhood, strength and the miracle of life. And on the Miss World stage, it did exactly that.
