Serie A champions Napoli coasted to a 2-0 win at Sassuolo on Saturday, while AC Milan were upset by Cremonese as the travelling side picked up a 2-1 win on the road at the famous San Siro.
Scott McTominay and Kevin De Bruyne were on target for the Naples-based side, while strikes from Federico Baschirotto and Federico Bonazzoli helped Cremonese pip Milan, who netted a consolation through Strahinja Pavlovic.

“Of course it’s a nice moment, I just tried to put the ball in the right space you know and I think I put it in a dangerous space so if anyone touched it… now in this case nobody, it just went in. It’s nice to start this way,” said De Bruyne after his side’s victory.
“It’s a different way of working, a different way of playing and I saw that today. I think I still have to adjust a bit and do better,” added De Bruyne.
“It was a good start as a team but I think we can play better, individually and collectively.”

Federico Bonazzoli spoiled Modric’s first start for Milan with a spectacular scissor kick just after the hour mark, securing a victory for the visitors and delighting the vocal Cremonese fans at the San Siro.
Home supporters responded with whistles and boos at the final whistle as Milan suffered from two sucker punches delivered by Bonazzoli and Federico Baschirotto, who opened the scoring with a glancing header in the 29th minute.
Milan equalised just before halftime with a header from Strahinja Pavlovic, but Massimiliano Allegri’s team failed to capitalise on early second-half opportunities and were punished by Bonazzoli, who led Cremonese to their first-ever win over Milan at the San Siro.
“If you look at the performance, we had more chances, but the difference in these matches is the determination with which you attack and defend,” said Allegri. “We conceded two avoidable goals due to being slack… it’s like we’re not aware of danger.”
Roma started positively under new coach Gian Piero Gasperini with a 1-0 win over Bologna. New signing Wesley Franca capitalised on a Jhon Lucumi error to score the only goal of the game in the 43rd minute.
