Sensex trading at 81,100 below 250 points: Nifty drops 50 points; IT, pharma, banking and realty shares decline

The stock market declines today on the fourth trading day of the week i.e. on Thursday, 15 May. The Sensex is trading at the level of 81,100 below 250 points. The Nifty also has a rise of more than 50 points, it is at 24,600 levels.

The Sensex declines 25 out of 30 shares. IndusInd Bank, Power Grid and M&M shares are 1% below. Whereas, the shares of Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, Adani Ports are boom.

40 out of 50 shares of Nifty are declining. IT, pharma, banking and realty shares decline. While auto, media metal shares have climbed.

Asian markets declines, American boom

  • In the Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei is trading at 37,705 at 37,705 below (1.11%) and Korea’s Kospi is trading at 2,635.
  • Hong Kong’s Hangseng index has dropped 75 points (0.32%), it is at 23,565. China’s Shanghai Composite declines by 18 points (0.52%), it is at 3,386.
  • On 14 May, the US Dow Jones fell 90 points (0.21%) to close at 42,051. Nasdaq Composite rose 137 points to 19,146.81.

Domestic investors purchased ₹ 19,780 crore in May

  • On May 14, Foreign Investors (FIIs) purchased a net of Rs 931.80 crore in the cash segment and Rs 316.31 crore by domestic investors (DIIs).
  • So far, foreign investors have purchased a net of Rs 9,558.65 crore in the cash segment and Rs 19,779.93 crore in the cash segment.
  • Net purchases of foreign investors in April stood at Rs 2,735.02 crore. Domestic investors also purchased a net of ₹ 28,228.45 crore in a month.

Yesterday the market increased by about 200 points

The stock market increased on the third trading day of the week i.e. on Wednesday, 14 May. The Sensex climbed 182 points to close at 81,331. The Nifty also rose by 89 points. It closed at 24,667 levels.

Tata Steel shares closed up 3.95%, Tech Mahindra 2.26% and Jomato 2.20% climbing. A total of 6 shares, including Maruti and Infosys, jumped up to 2%. Whereas, Tata Motors, Asian Paints and Kotak Bank fell to 1.7%.

Out of 50 shares of Nifty, 39 rose. The highest edge was seen in the metal sector 2.46%, 1.70%in realty, 1.34%in IT, 1.27%in media, 1.22%in oil and gas and 0.82%in auto.
