Today, on the first trading day of the week, i.e. Monday 22nd January, the stock market is bullish. Sensex is trading 400 points higher at 85,300. There is also a rise of 120 points in Nifty, it is at the level of 26,100. In today’s business, there is maximum buying in metal and IT shares. Bank and pharma shares have also risen.
Global market boom
- In Asian markets, Korea’s Kospi was up 1.86% at 4,095 and Japan’s Nikkei index was up 1.97% at 50,480.
- Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is up 0.28% at 25,763. China’s Shanghai Composite Index is up 0.71% at 3,917.
- On December 19, America’s Dow Jones closed at 48,134, up 0.38%. At the same time, Nasdaq Composite was up by 1.31% and S&P 500 was up by 0.88%.
DIIs bought shares worth ₹2,700 crore on Friday
- On December 19, foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,830.89 crore and domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 5,722.89 crore.
- Till 19th December, FIIs sold shares worth a total of ₹19,857.37 crore. During this period, DIIs controlling the market have bought shares worth ₹ 52,032.12 crore.
- FIIs sold shares worth a total of ₹17,500.31 crore in the month of November. Whereas, DIIs made purchases worth ₹77,083.78 crore. That is, the market is supported by domestic investors.
The market was falling on Friday
There was a rise in the stock market on 19 December. Sensex closed at 84,929, up 447 points. Nifty also gained 150 points and closed at the level of 25,966.
Out of all 30 Sensex stocks, 26 were up and 4 were down. Shares of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle, Power Grid and BEL rose up to 2%.
