3 big reasons for the rise in the market…

1. Buying by foreign and domestic investors: Foreign investors (FIIs), who have been selling for a long time, bought shares worth Rs 871.83 crore on Wednesday. Domestic investors (DIIs) also invested Rs 643.35 crore. This purchase provided strong support to the market.

Foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth ₹7,767 crore in 7 days

category Latest last 7 days last 30 days
DII -818 +500 +52,178
FII/FPI +3,599 +7,767 -35,678

Note: Net buying/selling figures of FIIs and DIIs are in crores of rupees.

2. Excellent results of big companies: Strong September quarter results attracted investors. Reliance’s profit increased by 34% to Rs 29,550 crore, due to which its share is up by more than 4%. Apart from this, good buying was also seen in shares of big companies like Tata Steel, NTPC, Maruti and SBI.

3. Some relief in crude oil prices: The price of Brent crude oil fell nearly 3% to $110 per barrel. India imports most of its crude oil from outside, hence this slight softening in oil prices was positive for the market.
