Today, on December 30, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex is trading at the level of 78,440 with a fall of more than 250 points. There is also a fall of 80 points in Nifty, it is trading at the level of 23,730.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 are declining and 11 are rising. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 36 are declining and 14 are rising. Auto sector is trading the biggest loser in the NSE sectoral index with a decline of 0.59%.

Mixed business for Asian markets

  • In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell by 0.75% and Korea’s Kospi rose by 0.42%. At the same time, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading with a decline of 0.089%.
  • According to NSE data, on December 27, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹1,323.29 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹2,544.64 crore.
  • On December 27, America’s Dow Jones closed at 42,992 with a decline of 0.77%. The S&P 500 index fell 1.11% to 5,970 and the Nasdaq fell 1.49% to 19,722.

There was a rise in the market on Friday

Earlier on Friday i.e. 27th December, the Sensex had closed at the level of 78,699 with a gain of 226 points. Nifty also gained 63 points, it closed at the level of 23,813.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 were up and 10 were down. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 30 were up and 20 were down. In the NSE sectoral index, the pharma sector closed with the highest gain of 1.30%.
