Sensex falls by more than 100 points: Trading at 83,500, Nifty also slips 50 points; Selling in auto and IT sector

There is a decline in the stock market today i.e. on 14th January. Sensex is trading at 83,500 level, falling by more than 100 points. There is also a decline of about 50 points in Nifty. It is trading at the level of 25,700.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 are rising and 10 are declining. Banking, auto and IT shares are witnessing a rise. There is a decline in pharma shares.

Mixed business in global market

  • In Asian markets, Korea’s Kospi is trading up 0.24% at 4,703 and Japan’s Nikkei index is trading up 1.53% at 54,370.
  • Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is trading up 0.90% at 27,090 and China’s Shanghai Composite index is up 1.20% at 4,138.
  • On January 13, America’s Dow Jones fell 0.80% and closed at 49,191. At the same time, Nasdaq Composite fell 0.10%. The S&P 500 declined 0.19%.

Foreign investors sold shares worth ₹1,499 crore

  • On January 13, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹1,499 crore.
  • During this period, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹1,181 crore.
  • FIIs sold shares worth a total of ₹34,350 crore in December 2025. During this period, DIIs controlling the market bought shares worth ₹ 79,620 crore.

The market was down yesterday

There was a decline in the stock market on 13 January. Sensex fell 250 points and closed at 83,628. Nifty also fell by 58 points. It closed at 25,732.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 declined and 10 rose. Selling was seen in pharma, realty, auto and FMCG shares. Whereas metal, IT and banking shares remained on the rise.
